How does the download process work?

As soon as you click on one of our Soundscape Albums to purchase, you will be directed to our Evocative Sound & Visuals Bandcamp page. From there you will use your PayPal account. Your credit card information is securely passed through PayPal. Evocative Sound & Visuals has no access to your sensitive information. So it’s just as easy to know how much you’re spending as it is to spend it. It’s free to sign up for a PayPal account and to download the PayPal app to receive and send money to other PayPal users.

Will I get a printed invoice and license when I Will I get a printed invoice and license when I purchase an Album?

No, but you will see an acknowledgment page in your account with all the details of your transaction that you can print for your records, including the invoice. You can also check your email for a PDF invoice and download information.

Now that I downloaded a Soundscape Album, do I own it?

No. By downloading the file, you are agreeing to our EULA. Please see our licensing agreement page for more information.

When I receive my Soundscape Album, what format will it be in?

You will receive your album as an uncompressed 16bit/44kHz .wav file, equivalent to CD-quality sound, compatible with Macintosh and PC.

May I get a refund on a Soundscape Album or Sound Effects Library?

All transactions are considered final. Whether they are originating through Evocativesound.com or through a sales site we use. We do not offer refunds and cannot cancel your license for our downloadable products. We offer the opportunity for you to audition the content so you can make sure you are purchasing an album or sound effect library you really want. Please listen to our samples carefully, consider the most applicable licensing agreement and choose accordingly. 

Can I purchase CDs of your Soundscape Albums?

Our albums are delivered via download only. This keeps costs down. It means you receive them instantly and you’re being an environmentally conscious citizen of the world. Most importantly, you won’t have to fumble with that annoying plastic wrap. 

What does royalty-free mean concerning Evocative Sound & Visuals sound effects? 

Royalty-free means that you can legally use our sound effects for commercial purposes without having to pay any ongoing fees. Royalty-free sound effects cost more than normal music, but the price includes a one-time license fee that allows you to use the music to create products and services that earn you money, for example, hypnosis & meditation recordings, YouTube videos or software applications. You can also play royalty-free music at your place of business without having to pay any performing rights fees. What do you mean by mechanical, synchronization and public performance broadcast rights?

Mechanical rights are the right to re-record, duplicate and release content as part of your product/production in whatever medium you choose (i.e. videotape, film, CD ROM, DVD, digital formats). This does not include the right to resell Evocative Sound and Visuals content as a standalone product in whole or in part.

Synchronization rights refer to the right to use a section of a soundscape album or a sound effect as a soundtrack with visual images. Evocative Sound and Visuals audio files must only be used in timed relations with other visual elements in a film, video, television show, commercial, or other audiovisual production. 

Public Performance Broadcast rights are the right to use Evocative Sound & Visuals content as part of the public viewing or broadcast of your product/production, including but not limited to videos, DVDs, websites, podcasts, multimedia presentations, films, television, and radio. 

I want to make a video or recording of your work and give it away for free. But I’ll credit you. Is this okay?

Nope. Enough said.

Can you record specific nature recordings or sound effects for me?

Sure, let’s talk! 

I’d like to use one of your sounds that I have purchased as a ringtone. Is that okay?

You may use an Evocative Sound and Visuals file as a personal ringtone. However, the License does not allow you to use an Evocative Sound and Visuals file, in whole or in part, as a commercial ringtone or ringback. Contact us at sales at evocativesound dot com for an additional license agreement.

What is your privacy policy?

First off, we respect your privacy and will never sell or rent your email address to third parties. We will on occasion send out an email to our customers with information (if you opted in at the time of purchase) on new and upcoming sound effects and album products. If you DO NOT wish to receive these emails please click “unsubscribe from this list” at the bottom of the email. For more details see our privacy policy page.

What sort of gear are you using in the field?

Our gear purchases are ever-evolving. What we take on assignment varies from one gig to the next. Please refer to our gear list page, and know that at the very least, we never leave the office without a bit of gaffer tape wrapped around a marker pen.

I like the photography on your site and wish to use an image. May I do so?

Sure. I’m flattered.
